K9 Search and Rescue Apparatus

The Burlington County K-9 Search & Rescue department utilizes a variety of rescue apparatus to ensure we can carry out our mission smoothly and efficiently. Check out some of our fleet below!

BCK9SAR Chief Car

Now introducing our newest addition to the fleet!

2011 Chevy Tahoe- Chief Car

In most cases, the Chief arrives on location before the remainder of the department, to gather pertinent information to best set the crew up for success. This vehicle is equipped with a command box in the rear of the trunk which allows efficiency when working command prior to the MCU's (Mobile Command Unit) arrival. In addition, this vehicle is equipped with newly added lights and sirens, it is also equipped with a lifted suspension and rugged tires to assure the chief can get to the scene safety and quickly. Come on out to our PR events, which can be located on our events tab, to get a closer look!

BCK9SAR Mobile Command Unit (MCU)

1997 Ford E-Series Ambulance

With all incidents, there is a need for command. Our MCU comes in handy of being the nucleus of the incident. Our MCU is equipped with numerous, TV's, Radios, Computers, EMS equipment, and obviously a coffee maker for the early morning calls. This vehicle is vital in the midst of chaos. We appreciate our command staff who run the command post during these incidents.

BCK9SAR Mobile Command Unit Trailer

This trailer is crucial for more rural landscape searches. This trailer is equipped with multiple bikes and other gear needed in special operations. In addition, this trailer has a drop down desk capable of handling multiple computers, radios, and more, to assist command post operations in larger incidents.

BCK9SAR Amphibious 6X6

This 6x6 Amphibious vehicle is utilized in those "hard-to-get-to" places. This vehicle is mostly used in lakes, muddy areas, and swamp-like locations in conjunction with the BCK9SAR Marine unit. This vehicle is capable of carrying our smaller boat on its mounted unit on top. This vehicle comes equipped with an all purpose winch, lights, and most important 2 bench seats capable of holding a driver, a handler and a K9.

BCK9SAR Marine Unit

This 16ft Marine Unit is equipped with one of our most valuable pieces of equipment.  This Marine Unit comes with a complete SONAR unit capable of locating victims under the water! The SONAR unit is a huge asset to our department and others on water rescues. Our Marine Unit is equipped with several life jackets for all who come aboard, including the K9! In most cases this unit is staffed with an operator/captain, K9 and K9 handler, and at least 1-2 SAR Technicians to help during a water rescue.
